Buyer I / Buyer II - eCommerce (Hardlines & Softlines)

Reports To: DMM - eCommerce

Duties: The Buyer is responsible for achieving Sales, Margin and Turnover plans In addition, they are also responsible for:
  • Product selection and development of private label goods, both for initial and special buy quantities
  • Planning their business in conjunction with the Planning and Operations departments
  • Developing merchandise assortments by category and continually evaluate, analyze, and adjust these assortments
  • Vendor relations to include selection, negotiation, communication, and partnership development
  • Vendor compliance monitoring and development of import quality standards
  • Open-to-Buy, pricing, and markdown management
  • Advertising, promotion prep and execution of advertising strategies and plans, including Co-op procurement
  • Analyze, forecast, and interpret market and consumer trends
  • Merchandise presentation direction and guidelines
  • Development of Assistant Buyer


    • Successful Candidate Requirements:
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Proficient in Excel and MS Word
  • Strong communication skills
  • Excellent negotiating skills

    Experience:

  • 3 - 5 years previous retail buying experience

    Minimum Education:

  • Bachelors degree required
