Position Title: Distribution Center Supervisor I
Shift: Evening Shift
Department/Location: Shipping / Plainfield Distribution Center
Position Type: Full-Time Salaried Exempt
Reports To: Shipping Manager
• Forecasting & responding to production volume and manpower needs in order to maximize productivity and ensure quality
• Training, developing & supervising non-exempt associates
• Developing and implementing methods and procedures to improve efficiency and safety of operations
• Maintaining the security of all merchandise and capital equipment in assigned departments
• Promoting and maintaining high employee morale and safety
• Coaching and counseling employee performance and attendance issues
• Other duties as assigned.
• Previous Distribution Center management experience
• Experience with distribution systems preferred
• Retail experience preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in Business or equivalent experience
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Performs all aspects of the material handling manually and through the use of powered equipment with the Distribution Center. Must pass equipment operatorˇ¦s testing, according to position and department requirements. The physical aspects include bending, stooping, reaching, standing, pushing, pulling and lifting boxes/cartons weighing up to 50 pounds repetitively. Some job functions are performed in a standing position. Must have basic reading comprehension and numerical reasoning skills. Manual dexterity is required as well as the ability to read and follow written and verbal directions. Must be available to work the assigned hours at the work site at the times identified.
