Position Title: Loss Prevention Supervisor
Department/Location: Loss Prevention/Distribution Center
Position Type: Full-Time Salaried Exempt
Reports To: Manager of Loss Prevention
Maintains communication with the DC Management and Corporate Loss Prevention to determine departmental direction
Responsible for hiring, training and developing the Loss Prevention staff
Supervise the front entrance/receptionist area
Supervise the Guard Shack duties and responsibilities
Responsible for ensuring the fire and security systems are working properly
Responds to burglar and fire alarm calls
Responsible for opening and closing the building when necessary
Supervise the Trailer Seal Program to ensure the delivery integrity of store freight
Conduct surveys of any perspective 3rd party facility to assess potential liabilities
Participates in New Hire Orientation
Conduct daily Loss Prevention audits at the Distribution Center
Manage inventory preparation and auditing at the Distribution Center
Conducts investigation as appropriate.
Work with 3rd party carriers to minimize and resolve inbound/outbound freight losses
Resolve issues that involve the flow of goods to the stores
Work with the DLPMs and RLPDs to resolve any issues with stores freight
Work with the Transportation Department to ensure the arrival of freight to stores
Minimum Qualifications
Microsoft Office Applications
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively - verbally and in writing
Good problem analysis and decision-making skills
Ability and willingness to travel between distribution facilities (limited)
Flexibility to work varied shifts
Experience
Previous LP experience in a supervisor role
Experience with distribution systems preferred
Familiarity with Burglar, Fire and CCTV systems is Wicklander-Zulawski certification preferred
Retail experience
Minimum Education
Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
Dick's Sporting Goods operates 3 state-of-the-art distribution centers; One in Smithton, PA near Pittsburgh and the other in Plainfield, IN near Indianapolis.
