OVERVIEW:

JOB PURPOSE

Leads the development and maintenance of best-in-class solutions for complex product group(s) that includes the TOTF Web UI engineering teams. A dynamic and horizonal leader with deep technology experience who can build products at a scale and resiliency expected of high traffic retailer. Build a multiyear vision and motivate folks behind it to achieve those goals. Aspires and motivates people in a collaborative way, but also challenge norms, and be curious to foster open minds.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Technical experience:

  • Web development technologies using JSON, HTML, and CSS preprocessors

  • JavaScript/Typescript and asynchronous call structures

  • Angular, Typescript, RxJs, and other web technologies

  • Unit Testing and Test Coverage technologies

  • Demonstrated experience in using NRWL/NX Mono-repo or similar mono-repo architecture

  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or other Container technologies

  • Familiarity with git-based source control

  • Interest in researching and understanding alternative web technologies

  • Experience using Agile development methodologies

  • Experience building custom software solutions

  • Experience of planning and managing resources to deliver predetermined objectives

  • Experience leading teams of contractors in an onshore/offshore engagement

  • Experience mentoring and growing the careers of Software Engineers and Engineering Managers.

  • Track record of elevating Operational and Engineering excellence bar

Role Responsibilities:

Data-driven Product and Service Improvement

Lead execution and create the capability for proactively exploring ideas on how to improve digital products/services and user experiences over the long term for a product.

Digital Strategy/Transformational Projects Execution

Begin to lead execution of digital road map, establishing and managing business processes, programs, and initiatives, resource allocation, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and governance activities.

Digital Talent Development

Execute strategy to grow digital talent, ensuring the company delivers on its value proposition for digital talent through its talent development and employee experience plans.

Digital Vision and Strategy

Contribute to the development of the digital road map and key strategic enablers, designing the workflow and business processes that allow new applications, products, and services to be rolled out quickly while ensuring that legacy applications and technology operations are maintained at optimal levels.

Project Management

Manage a portfolio of major projects in line with overall project management strategy.

Quality

Begins to play a role in the development of quality procedures and standards by certifying technological processes, qualifying products and supervising tests.

Budgeting

Drive, develop and/or deliver budget plans with guidance from senior teammates.

Information Security

Lead in detecting and analyzing cybersecurity incidents including attacks, breaches, and identified vulnerabilities and remediate any security gaps in line with the security incident management procedure.

Leadership and Direction

Identify and communicate the actions needed to implement the function's strategy and business plan within the business area or department; explain the relationship to the broader organization's mission, vision and values; motivate people to commit to these and to doing extraordinary things to achieve local business goals.

Organizational Capability Building

Evaluate the capabilities of staff within the department to identify gaps and prioritize development activities. Implement the organization's formal development frameworks within the area of responsibility. Coach and mentor others to support the development of the organization's talent pool.

Performance Management

Manage and report on the performance of a substantial, diverse team; set appropriate performance objectives for direct reports or project / account team members and hold them accountable for achieving these; take appropriate corrective action where necessary to ensure the achievement of team / personal objectives.

Program/Portfolio Management Support

Manage a portfolio of major programs in line with overall program management strategy, leveraging assigned product management team processes and protocols.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's Degree or Equivalent Level Preferred

  • 10 to 15+ years experience

  • 3 to 6 years experience of planning and managing resources to deliver predetermined
    objectives as specified by more senior managers

Targeted Pay Range: $114,300.00 - $190,500.00. This is part of a competitive total rewards package that could include other components such as: incentive, equity and benefits. Individual pay is determined by a number of factors including experience, location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations.
