The User Experience Design (UX) team is responsible for creating digital experiences that connect our customers with the equipment they need to perform at their best. Our UX team consists of a group of talented individuals who are passionate about how design, research, business and technology intersect and enable great experiences. Collaboration, communication and creativity are our foundations while interaction design, information architecture, prototyping and research are our primary tools.
As a key member of the team, the Senior UX Designer is an active contributor in the refinement and progression of the UX team strategy and provides mentorship and guidance to mid-level UX designers. The Senior UX Designer works closely with cross-functional teams, presents research findings and rationale for UX recommendations to project stakeholders, and executes design deliverables and research strategy for digital experiences by following agile working methods across all DICK’S Sporting Goods brands and platforms.
Actively providing mentorship and coaching junior and mid-level designers on execution of design deliverables and strategic research focused on improving the customer experience.
You support UX leadership by providing continuous feedback regarding the evolution of team process standards.
Research & Design
You know how to lead projects and execute research to gather the right insights needed to shape great digital experiences.
Actively engages with product stakeholders to translate business requirements into experiences.
You elicit qualitative and quantitative user feedback through usability testing, survey designs, user interviews, data analysis, heuristic evaluations, exploratory research methods, and other modern research practices.
You utilize industry standard design tools to create top quality user interfaces, customer interactions, and interactive prototypes.
Your UI design skills are top-notch and you contribute to establishing, maintaining and approving style guides and pattern libraries.
You possess an expert level understanding of user-centered design practice through the application of type, color, and motion.
Plans, executes, and iterates upon interface and interaction design deliverables and research across all devices (desktop, tablet, phone, and in-store experiences) from inception through launch.
Must have a digital portfolio that demonstrates user-centered research and design practices
Degree: Bachelor’s, Master’s, or certification in Design, Technology, or a related field
4+ years of UXD experience
Experience working directly with business stakeholders
Ability to clearly present design approaches to wide-ranging audiences (e.g. business, product management and technology teams)
Understanding of consumer research methods (hands-on research experience is a huge plus)
Demonstrated ability in creating design deliverables including information architecture diagrams, wireframes, conceptual sketches, prototypes and screen flows
Located in Coraopolis, PA, only 12 miles from downtown Pittsburgh
