Position: Software Engineer
Job Duties: Plan, design, code, test, debug, configure and document packaged application systems and custom software development solutions. Work with application developers and guide the technical solutions through design and coding standards ensuring adherence to Dick’s Sporting Goods Software Development Methodologies (SDM). Perform as the technical expert for designated technical areas including programming languages, operating systems, databases and packaged systems. Lead implementation efforts and provide assistance and routine consultation to internal business users of applications. Develop technical recommendations for more efficient troubleshooting and issue resolution. Apply programming standards and techniques to assure efficient program logic and data manipulation. Act as code reviewer for other application developers’ output to enforce programming standards and techniques. Address technical issues for resolution. Present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees. Work with cross-functional team members to recommend technical solutions to business issues and system issues. Work with cross-functional team members to develop system and software designs. Work with Project Manager and Quality Assurance representative to estimate new system issue resolution or package implementation efforts. Utilize knowledge and experience with JEE/Java development including JSP, JSTL, Servlets, and Java; WebSphere Commerce v7 development; Web Services, RESTful and Axis/SOAP; JDB/ODBC, SQL and RDBMS; software engineering methodologies; and Java Messaging Services (JMS).
Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering (any field), or a related quantitative discipline and two (2) years of experience as a Software Engineer, Software Developer or related position OR Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering (any field), or a related quantitative discipline and five (5) years of progressively responsible experience as a Software Engineer, Software Developer or related position.
Special Skill Requirements: (1) OOP; (2) Collection API; (3) Apache Tomcat; (4) React JS; (5) Eclipse; (6) IBM DB2; (7) MySQL Workbench; (8) RESTful Services; (9) AJAX; (10) HTML; (11) XML Technologies; (12) IBM WCS 7.0; (13) IBM WCS Solr; and (14) WCS REST APIs. Any suitable combination of education, training and experience is acceptable.
Salary: $89,216.00 per annum. 40 hours per week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
