For the Knoxville, TN area we’re seeking a Community Relations Manager. The Community Relations Manager is responsible for identifying, building and strengthening partnerships with the community and DICK’S Sporting Goods. This role will be supporting, developing, and evaluating events, programs and marketing strategies across the Knoxville Area. This includes test and learn opportunities to further connect the community through schools, youth leagues, sports management and wellness activities for folks of all ages. Support our goal to uniquely brand DICK’S Sporting Goods as the #1 authentic sports, Omni-channel retailer that serves and inspires athletes and outdoor enthusiasts to achieve their personal best through the relentless improvement of everything we do. Additionally, this person is responsible for driving traffic, sales and profitable results. The ideal candidate has a working knowledge of the Knoxville proper and outlying area schools, youth sports leagues, clubs and potential vendor partners.
This position is part of the Community Integration Team that supports our community goals in conjunction with DICK’S Sporting Goods overall corporate goals and brand plan. This person establishes and maintains relationships with our corporate Marketing Team as well as, collaborates with the Community Marketing organization & local DSG field leadership teams.
The role you’ll play:
Seek, develop, and strengthen relationships with community teams, leagues, and organizations encouraging them to choose DICK’S for product, service, experiences and destination for community events.
Increase merchandise sales, traffic counts, customer conversion through strategic programming, which includes: in-store events utilizing batting cages, golf bays, outdoor field and rock wall, couponing/shop nights and promoting the additional services within
Leverage outreach assets to promote the DICK’s Sporting Goods brand through partnerships, events, marketing drive traffic in-store and evaluate test and learn experiences and activities.
Collaborates with local community marketing manager for visibility to execution and evaluation of all territory level marketing activities, national events, partnerships and initiatives including Community Youth Sports Program, new store marketing programs and other related sponsorship opportunities as directed.
Serve as cross-functional liaison between stores, community marketing, and community organizations to ensure execution of programs from conception to conclusion.
Along with the Community Integration Team, proactively plan, prepare and provide comprehensive support and communication that detail all specifics related to in-store events and programs as directed.
Evaluate qualitatively and quantitatively each event/program and proactively suggest enhanced measures of success.
Evaluate and execute Dick’s Sporting Goods donations requests working in conjunction with Sponsorship program.
Recording of all asset distribution and contract management working in conjunction with local CRM program.
Communicate new and regional product, service and experience opportunities to cross functional business partners.
Evaluate and manage budget and related expenses for community relations programs, experience and community support.
Deliver a level of excellence and professionalism on all events, programs or projects as assigned.
Serve as approved media trained associate capable of talking to media on behalf of DICK’S as directed by Corporate communications team.

What we’re looking for
The experience we’re looking for:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Communications, Marketing or related area
3+ years of related experience as a regional or company merchandise or marketing professional in a retail or multi-unit environment
A plus: strong current relationships in the Knoxville region
Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed (including nights, weekends and travel throughout the territory)
Tremendous passion and experience in event and community management
Project management experience and business leader mindset
Excellent communication, project management, operations and organizational skills
Strong relationship building experience
A passion for relentless improvement, embracing and driving positive change
