The Logistics Coordinator utilizes the Transportation Management System (TMS) to route inbound and outbound shipments both to and from the Distribution Center's (DC's). The Logistics Coordinator communicates with both carriers and vendors on issues as they arise (hot shipments, late pick-ups, load configuration changes). The Logistics Coordinator must be able to communicate with other DICK'S Sporting Goods departments (Merchandising, DC Operations, Vendor Relations) as well as internal Logistics teams (TMS team, Vendor Management team, DC Logistics teams) dealing with issues that affect the flow of both inbound and outbound freight. The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for maintaining accurate and precise information within the TMS system.
Routing freight from vendors to four DC's as well as direct to store in a timely and cost efficient manner. Work with carriers (TL, LTL, INTM) coordinating the pick-up and delivery of inbound freight. Monitor on time delivery of shipments.
Work with other departments within the organization to track merchandise, rush priority shipments, and expedite ad merchandise.
Monitor the TMS Help Desk email inbox/phone and provide resolution for issues being experienced by the vendors, carriers, and merchants.
Dispatch outbound store deliveries/store returns for four DC's. Dispatch return to vendor loads. Dispatch new store loads.
Enter containers, air freight, fixtures, supplies, and various other shipments into the TMS system via manual entry or utilizing a data loader.
Monitor the delivery appointment email inbox and schedule delivery appointments for prepaid shipments, containers, and LTL shipments. Resolve delivery appointment issues. Communicate late arrivals and delivery issues to DC operations.
Monitor the accessorial email inbox to answer both internal and external accessorial questions. Add approved accessorial charges to shipments in TMS.
