OVERVIEW:

The Director of eComm Strategy will help shape the future of DICK’S Sporting Goods digital ecosystem. This role will capitalize on opportunities to accelerate growth, elevate our athlete experience, and provide the organization with actionable business insights.

This key position will be focused on driving results through structuring a strategic vision, leading key cross-functional initiatives, executing implementation plans and providing thought leadership to the organization. This role will serve as a key thought partner to the VP – eComm Strategy & Insights, as well as provide leadership to eComm Strategists.

This role will have opportunities work independently, as well as collaborate and build relationships with key stakeholders across a variety of functions across the business including Technology, Finance, Marketing, Merchandising, Supply Chain, and Stores.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Valuation and Prioritization: Identify strategic growth opportunities and own comprehensive eComm capabilities roadmap.

  • Identify opportunities to drive profitable growth by leveraging internal data as well as monitoring industry trends.

  • Simplify intricate opportunities into clear stories to articulate needs, challenges, and benefits.

  • Assign value to strategic outcomes and ensure cross-functional alignment, resourcing and coordination.

  • Lead annual budgeting process by quantifying and prioritizing drivers of growth versus potential headwinds.

  • Serve as key liaison with Technology and other cross-functional partners to plan, prioritize, and track delivery of outcomes and features.

Strategic Innovation: Incubate new strategic initiatives and develop roadmaps to scale toward maturity.

  • Identify opportunities for innovation and elevation of the athlete experience by analyzing athlete feedback, site behavior, and business results.

  • Gain cross-functional alignment and support for new pilot programs by establishing a strong internal network with other leaders.

  • Ensure efficient execution and accurate measurement of tests to prove long-term value by securing support from eComm and Marketing Analytics partners.

  • Represent eComm in omni-channel athlete experience strategic initiatives by articulating athlete needs, potential solutions, business value, and investments required.

Business Insights: Obsess about the business and drivers of results.

  • Lead the charge in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting full-funnel, omni-channel data to inform strategies and generate actionable insights.

  • Partner with Analytics and Finance teams to decomp business drivers and identify levers to shift trends.

  • Oversee insights generation used to understand the competitive landscape and trends in the sporting goods and omni-channel retail industry.

Leadership: Foster a culture of data-driven decision-making within the eCommerce team

  • Develop team of eComm Strategists and manage day-to-day activities.

  • Serve as thought partner to VP of eComm Strategy and Insights.

  • Manage relationships with external agencies, partners, and vendors by ensuring they contribute to data-driven eCommerce objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Marketing, Business Administration or Engineering. MBA or relevant work experience preferred

  • 7-10 years experience

  • Retail, Marketing, eCommerce, Technology, Finance, Strategy, Analytics.

  • Strong leadership skills

  • Passion for working cross-functionally and collaboratively

  • Lead with empathy and authenticity

  • Willing and able to work with ambiguity, shifting priorities, under pressure and in a fast-paced environment while still adhering to deadlines
