OVERVIEW:
Manages the Architectural/Engineering (AE) and Design scope & services for the retail buildings (Dick's Sporting Goods, Field & Stream, Golf Galaxy, True Runner) including but not limited to prototype document management, project specific drawing reviews, change management/value engineering process, AE and design annual budget management of, and interface and communication with others to ensure the final product is consistent, timely and accurate to company standards.
Drawing Reviews
Conducts meetings with the Architect of Record (AOR), national account vendors and other departments like Development, Store Planning, and Construction to review project-specific documents to ensure they are current and accurate as per company standards for the construction of store projects with minimal error and omissions.
Prototype Document Management
Manages the process to conduct meetings with the Prototype Managing Architect (PMA), national account vendors and other departments like Development, Store Planning, and Construction to ensure prototype documents are accurate as per company standards. Manages the process to ensure that the PMA adheres to all company requirements.
Manages PMA Prototype Maintenance Fees
Ensures the ADS Team maintains the drawing archives to be accurate and orderly, and that the AORs submit the project closeout information in a timely manner.
Participates in new prototype development when required.
Interface and Communication
Develops a relationship and communicates regularly with the architects, national account vendors, and other departments like Development, Store Planning, Construction, Facilities, and In-Store Communications to resolve project-specific and prototype document issues/questions. Tracks all construction document deadlines.
Change Management/Value Engineering
Manages and tracks the Request for Change (RC) and Design Revision Bulletin (DRB) process, and ensures all RC/DRBs are approved, issued and implemented into project-specific and prototype documents in a timely manner as to not negatively impact the project cost and schedule. Research and develop value engineering initiatives to reduce building cost.
ADS Team Development
Select, on-board, empower and develop a highly effective Architectural Design Specialist (ADS) team. Define a clear vision and strategy in order to communicate expectations, responsibilities and priorities. Demonstrate a flexible leadership style to foster teammate engagement including recognition. Improve overall teammate engagement and development through periodic performance/development meetings and conversations with direct reports
AE Budget Management
Establishes AE fee budgets for approval. Maintains the AE Menu of Services and bids out projects. Negotiates AE fees. Develops the ADS Team to bid out project specific AE fees for RBTS and remodel projects. Review and approve AE purchase orders, change orders, and invoices.
Manages development of milestone schedules for site specific projects and ongoing tracking of process deadlines.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree- BS in Architecture
7-10 years experience
Strong planning background with a national retail chain or architectural firm responsible for the AE process.
Excellent AutoCAD and Revit skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Strong understanding of AE processes with retail experience in "Big Box"
Must be detail oriented while maintaining an understanding of big picture goals
Requires a working knowledge of retail architecture/design, planning and construction
Ability to juggle multiple projects
