OVERVIEW:
The Master Data Analyst acts as the lead strategist and gatekeeper of product information for assigned business categories, supervising one or more Master Data Specialists. This role owns establishing product attribution strategy, recommending data governance models, and executing necessary maintenance for complete, accurate product data. This Master Data Analyst collaborates closely with vendors, suppliers and internal stakeholders including Merchandising and Ecommerce teams to support product data readiness for broader organizational use. The Master Data Analyst is the functional expert of the merchandise data management process and workflows, including all related systems/ technologies (PIM, Vendor Portal, PMMS) and data dependencies.

Attribution Governance & Execution
- Oversee the hands-on execution and maintenance of master product attribution data from third party vendor portal to PIM systems. Facilitate accuracy and oversight by acting as the subject matter expert in data model architecture.
- Enforce policies and processes around data attributes throughout the product lifecycle, this includes ensuring data standards are maintained in order to achieve continued data cleanliness from assortment planning through end-of-life management.
- Participate in governance projects to identify and implement process improvements and increase efficiency.
- Partner with stakeholders across the organization on continued attribute needs including defining the attributes, data standards for each type and managing communication of additions to the end users.
- Maintain relationships with 3rd party vendors and suppliers to ensure accountability of performance standards in terms of data quality, accuracy, and delivery expectations. Escalate challenges with gaining data when necessary.
- Collaborate across MDM team to provide input for on-going maintenance and accuracy of data dictionaries and catalogs, to include identification of business-critical fields. Communicate standards and definitions to end users.

Data Processing Analysis and Reporting
- Provide reporting coupled with suggested actions to leaders whose teams provide master data inputs, to reduce data quality issues, non-value record maintenance, and process deviation.
- Propose new attribute programs and inputs throughout the organization based on research and analysis of business needs and program capabilities.
- Conduct a periodic review of all master data to ensure data is current and accurate across business functions, conforms to attribution policies, and meets data quality standards. Present outcomes in summary to Manager

Functional Expertise and Workflows
- Maintain expertise in evolving technology across all systems used to collect, transform, and deliver product data, including Vendor Portal, PIM, and MDM.
- Develop and maintain workflows to support product data requirements and movement through technology systems.
- Enforce process standards as needed to reflect accurate ownership of product data.
- Responsible for training end users on all systems and data requirements, including assisting with new user set up to ensure teammate have proper access to portal and applications.
- Partner with technology to ensure the core systems and supporting infrastructure are working as expected and meeting the businesses expectations, share user feedback as needed. Partner with technology on building updated attribution templates, enhancements to vendor portal and general system administration.

Supervise, Train and Mentor Talent
- Supervise, train and mentor direct reports and new hires into Master Data Specialist roles by sharing experience, knowledge, and best practices.
- Lead and guide the work of the Master Data Specialist(s) on projects and deliverables, holding teammate accountable to deadlines. This includes organizing and monitoring workload to ensure priority deliverables are fast tracked.
- Establish best practices across the larger team to drive productivity and efficiencies.
- Share timely and actionable feedback with teammates on deliverables to ensure accountability, coach and mentor as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree - Merchandising, Information Technology
3-5 Years of Experience - Data Management or Retail Merchandising Experience preferred
