OVERVIEW:

Moosejaw Bike Technician
We’re seeking a Moosejaw Bike Tech to create a premium customer experience through technical setup work and repair, as well as selling through customer engagement live and in person. This position requires a deep knowledge of bikes across all categories—and I mean Bicycles not Hogs friends #SorryNotSorry.
Seasonal travel is potentially required to Moosejaw shops, as well as our competitor shops, industry shows and vendor line showings.
Summary: An individual in this position will be expected to perform additional job related responsibilities and duties as assigned and/or necessary.
Essential Functions
An individual must be able to successfully perform the essential functions of this position with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Expert Bicycle Mechanic: Must have the knowledge, experience and skill to efficiently build a wide range of high-end road, mountain and gravel bikes from the best brands in the industry.
  • Bike Builds: Will perform all new bike builds and re-pack for safe transport as needed. Will assess needs, fit, and make adjustments prior to shipping or delivery to customers.
  • Repair and Service: will assess and perform all in-store and ecommerce repairs and service on a tight time line.
  • You will be a primary reference and expert for our Customer Service team and customer base on any and all escalated issues and questions as well as training our Customer Service and Store teams on the finer points of servicing and selling some of the best bikes in the world.
  • Bike Receiving and Shipping Support: Provide training and support to warehouse team to ensure accurate receiving of technical bike products, picking and packing of related bicycle and component orders and all bicycle builds.
  • Excellent Organization and Time Management Skills: This is an extremely demanding position in high-growth department for a retailer that has significant growth goals for over the next year and beyond.
  • Packaging and Shipping Support: Collaborate with Warehouse and Shop employees to ensure all bikes and bike part orders are packed and shipped appropriately and free of any damages.
Physical Activities
The following physical activities are necessary to perform one or more essential functions of this position.
  • Grasps, turns, and manipulates objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
  • Visually locates merchandise and other objects.
  • Visually inspects equipment.
  • Reaches overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
  • Moves, lifts, carries, and places merchandise and supplies weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance
Work Environment
Working in the following environment is necessary to perform one or more of the essential functions of this position.
  • Works varying shifts as required.
  • Works overnight as required.
Travel
Traveling is necessary to perform one or more essential functions of this position.
Entry Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience as a mechanic in a premium bike shop
  • Expert technical knowledge of all bicycle parts, compatibility, etc.
