JOB PURPOSE

Leads translation of functional specifications into more details to guide development. Examines and evaluates current systems, and identify its requirements. Liaises with users to track additional requirements and features. Documents interfaces between new and legacy systems. Collaborate with developers to produce new systems. Oversees validation of changes by testing programs. Learns to lead teams. This role demands proficiency in administering, configuring, and maintaining our asset management system. Responsibilities include ensuring data accuracy, fine-tuning system functionality, and offering support to users throughout the organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Data Collection and Analysis

Independently collate and analyze data using pre-set tools, methods and formats, while providing mentoring and guidance to others on DSG's data collection and analysis tools and processes.

Analysis of Current vs. Future State

Partner with senior team members to create documentation of Current vs. Future state processes and describe the changes required to migrate to the future capability to record accurately the change required.

Business Requirements Identification

Collect business requirements using a variety of methods such as interviews, document analysis, workshops, and workflow analysis to express the requirements in terms of target user roles and goals.

Requirements Management

Plan and coordinate the identification, elicitation of requirements, conduct analysis of those requirements for completion and alignment, document and manage requirements throughout the life of the project and coordinate the verification of the end deliverable. Generally done at the project level.

Software Applications Roadmap

Maintain road map to facilitate application software development and ensure the development work is prioritized in line with business requirements.

Horizon Scanning

Explore and develop a basic understanding of external developments or emerging issues and contribute to the evaluation of their potential impact on, or usefulness to, the organization.

Software Applications Development

Identifying areas for modification and improvement. Contribute to development of new applications to meet customer requirements.

Documentation and Backup

Drive the creation and maintenance of technical and/or user documentation to a high standard and back up files to ensure instant recovery if problems occur.

Ongoing Learning and Development

Develop own and more junior team member capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching; gain or maintain external professional accreditation where relevant to improve performance and fulfill personal potential. Maintain an understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee the administration and maintenance of the asset management system, encompassing configuration, customization, and integration with other systems.

  • Maintain vigilance over data accuracy and completeness within the asset management database.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to grasp requirements and execute enhancements or alterations to the system.

  • Provide technical support and training to end-users regarding system functionalities and best practices.

  • Develop and uphold documentation related to system configuration, processes, and procedures.

  • Address and resolve issues pertaining to system performance, data integrity, and user access.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Proficiency in Linux, Windows, and Azure environments are desirable.

  • Possess a basic understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and security principles.

  • Strong familiarity with ITIL practices, particularly in configuration management.

  • Exhibit strong problem-solving skills and the capability to troubleshoot technical issues autonomously.

  • Effective communication skills, enabling interaction with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Stay abreast of industry best practices and emerging technologies in asset management and configuration management databases (CMDB).

  • Ability to adapt swiftly to new technologies and perform efficiently within a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell for automation and integration tasks.

  • Familiarity with IT service management (ITSM) processes and tools.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION

Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Level Preferred

EXPERIENCE

Experienced practitioner able to work unsupervised (5 to 7 years)

Basic experience of coordinating the work of others (4 to 6 months)
