Manage a team of business analysts, data scientists, machine learning engineers and/or data science leaders in using data to develop machine learning products that improve DSG business performance and suggest areas for and methods of improving operations across product groups. Translate the work of the Data Science function into findings for application by the broader business, including for use in strategic decision making and planning. Develop leaders and teammates across teams. Responsible for building the capability and role of data science across the enterprise.

  • Advanced and Predictive Analytics: Support the creation of well-defined road maps that align predictive analytics projects with business needs, leading functional teams in the implementation and ongoing use of advanced and predictive analytics' software tools and functionalities.

  • Data Exploration: Lead the performance and integration of advanced Machine Learning & Predictive analytics to promote understanding of different business areas or critical business challenges/opportunities.

  • Data and Analytics Strategy: Lead the implementation of data and analytics strategy by developing a data insights integration approach and process aligned to key business processes and decisions

  • Performance Improvement through Business Intelligence: Support the ability of direct reports and the broader data science organization to create models or algorithms that identify patterns in structured and unstructured data. Manage data preparation in collaboration with different stakeholders/internal clients in the business and ensure the collection of data in accordance with model standards.

  • Data Architecture: Implement all aspects of data architecture, turning event analytics, raw application data, and business systems into key business insights.

  • Functional/Technical Requirements: Elicit complex business requirements using a variety of methods such as interviews, document analysis, workshops, and workflow analysis to express the requirements in terms of target user roles and goals.

  • Data Management: Take responsibility for key elements of the enterprise data management system. May include development or management for feature stores that power data science models.

  • Enterprise Business Analysis: Interpret the business need and identify solution recommendations to business problems at a business unit level. Lead the improvement efforts to be made that are within span of control at this level.

  • Horizon Scanning: Explore and develop a detailed understanding of external developments or emerging issues and evaluate their potential impact on, or usefulness to, the organization across multiple domains

  • Leadership and Direction: Identify and communicate the actions needed to implement the function's strategy and business plan within the business area or department; explain the relationship to the broader organization's mission, vision and values; motivate people to commit to these and to doing extraordinary things to achieve local business goals.

  • Performance Management: Manage and report on the performance of a substantial, diverse team; set appropriate performance objectives for direct reports or project / account team members and hold them accountable for achieving these; take appropriate corrective action where necessary to ensure the achievement of team / personal objectives.

  • Budgeting: Drive, develop and/or deliver budget plans with guidance from senior teammates.

  • Organizational Capability Building: Use the organization's formal development framework to identify the team's individual development needs. Plan and implement actions, including continuing professional development specified by professional or regulatory institutions, to build their professional capabilities. Provide informal training or coaching to others throughout the organization in own area of expertise to enable others to improve performance and fulfill personal potential.

  • Digital Vision and Strategy: Contribute to the development of the digital road map and key strategic enablers, designing the workflow and business processes that allow new applications, products, and services to be rolled out quickly while ensuring that legacy applications and technology operations are maintained at optimal levels.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's Degree or equivalent level preferred

  • General Experience: Substantial general work experience together with comprehensive job related experience in own area of expertise to fully competent level. (Over 6 years to 10 years)

  • Managerial Experience: Experience of planning and managing resources to deliver predetermined objectives as specified by more senior managers (Over 3 years to 6 years)

Targeted Pay Range: $114,300 - $190,500. This is part of a competitive total rewards package that could include other components such as: incentive, equity and benefits. Individual pay is determined by a number of factors including experience, location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations.
