OVERVIEW:

Summary Description:

This position works regularly and directly with Department Heads, SVP's, VP's, Directors and AA's from all CSC departments to ascertain their forecast space requirements and necessary adjacencies. The position designs, develops and maintains all office and cubical floor plans that effectively meet those requirements. The position has Project Management responsibilities which include: development of Special Project budgets, engagement with outside contractors and code review entities, interaction with key internal personnel pertaining to building infrastructure (Technology, Facilities, Engineering) as necessary to obtain bids, preparation of construction documents, monitoring project progress and coordinates all activities related to a construction project. The Senior Space Planner has budget responsibility for managing the day to day CSC capital and expense accounts for furniture and misc. fixtures, as well as project budgets. This position also engages with Departmental AA’s to coordinate the efficient relocation or reorganization of Teammates and assets throughout theCSC. Special projects under this position also include exterior structures on the campus, including the hangar.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Engage with Senior Management to manage, develop and forecast near term and long term space requirements within each department of the CSC. Determine what assets (office space, infrastructure, furniture) are required to meet that demand and present recommendations, floor plans and proposed budgets to the Director of Corp. Facilities, Director of Facilities , the VP of Real Estate and the relevant departments as to available options to meet those demands.

Design, plan, generate drawings and develop scope of work for the approved work spaces. Estimate and develop budgets for those projects. Engage with CSC Engineering and Facilities groups to generate drawings as necessary depicting required improvements to infrastructure (electric, data, plumbing, fire sprinklers, HVAC, lighting), verifying that ADA and other building code requirements are observed.

Project Management of approved construction projects with outside contractors and key internal partners (I.T.S., Engineering, Facilities), award bids, establish schedules. Coordinate relocation plans and schedules with department AA's to correspond with the timeline of the project.

Manage external contractors and internal Engineering and Maintenance associates as necessary to clarify scope of work, monitor project budget and schedule, and review the above items with the Dir. Of Corp Facilities and the VP of Facilities. Review completed work for defects, establish and monitor completion of a project punch list.

Track and manage the work space and furniture assets of the CSC and update floor plans on a regular basis. Review furniture needs for potential replenishment or upgrades to existing standards. Review, bid and order furniture stock, and monitor spending to budget.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design

  • 5-7 years of Space Planning experience

  • Mastery of AutoCAD

  • Construction Project management skills

  • Financial and estimating knowledge

  • Ability to provide guidance and recommendations pertaining to coordination of décor, colors, patterns, etc., as well as furniture selection and placement

  • General knowledge of ADA regulations, building codes

  • Must maintain confidentiality regarding pending personnel or organizational changes

  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills
