OVERVIEW:
As the DMM for Golf, you will champion a deep understanding of the golf customer—who they are, where they play, how they shop, and what inspires their loyalty. You’ll serve as the voice of this customer within the business unit, ensuring every decision reflects a customer-first mindset rooted in the culture of the game.
You will lead cross-functional collaboration to shape and execute a merchandise strategy that spans all channels and brand portfolios—including national brands, emerging labels, and private brand development. Your decisions will drive category performance and elevate our position as the destination for golf apparel, equipment, and lifestyle.
This is a full time hybrid (remote on Monday and Friday, in office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday) role located in Coraopolis, PA.
Key responsibilities include:
Defining and advocating for the golf customer, with a focus on regional relevance, lifestyle segmentation, and emerging trends in the sport
Leading a customer-centric operating model that aligns with the broader business unit vision
Building and executing a short-term vision that fuels long-term growth, including a three-year strategic plan that differentiates us from competitors
Making data-informed category decisions across stores and digital, balancing innovation with operational excellence
Driving alignment across merchandising, planning, marketing, and store operations to deliver a cohesive customer experience
Identifying whitespace opportunities and trend-forward assortments that reflect the evolving culture of golf—from traditional players to new, diverse audiences
This role requires a leader who is both strategic and hands-on, with a passion for the game and a sharp eye for where it’s headed next.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Performance:
- Defines and knows the competition - who, where and how we will win. Identifies national and regional business opportunities and quantify the size of the prize.
- Viewed internally and externally as the leader of the category of business.
- Owner of the business performance metrics - SM&T, customer data, space productivity.
- Responsible for the customer experience across assortment, in store, online, and marketing.
- Owns the marketing productivity for the business.
- Manages current business environment to meet all deliverables.
People:
- Owns the leadership of the team (buying, planning and allocation, marketing, product development, e-commerce) that implements the business strategy for the brands and categories across all channels.
- Balances in store space, marketing and resources for the category of business.
- Develops the merchandising bench and succession plan by owning the performance management of the team and identifying their individual training and developmental needs.
- Communicates employee concerns, feedback, issues with process, systems, strategy, corporate initiatives and operating model.
Process:
- Ensures that cross functional teams are collaborating and delivering upon their individual category team accountabilities.
- Supports practices and policies that drive the sustainability and scalability of the business.
- Supports the change management process for the system upgrade project. Leads the adoption of new processes and systems.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 7 - 10 years of experience
- Bachelor's Degree
- Degree in either Merchandising, Marketing or Business preferred
