OVERVIEW:

Role Overview:

This position is ideal for a newer attorney, who is enthusiastic about building basic legal and professional skill development and looking to join a growing and dynamic in-house legal team. This role is focused on commercial contract review, drafting and negotiation. This position operates as a generalist and supports agreements across various business units in partnership with the finance/procurement team, and may work with various business units (such as technology, finance, loss prevention, store operations, supply chain, and facilities) to provide business-minded, practical, and solution-focused support. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of technology and the skill set to support the digital growth of the Company.

This is a full time hybrid (remote on Monday and Friday, in office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday) role located in Coraopolis, PA.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Contract Drafting and Negotiation

  • Focus on building transactional knowledge and skill related to commercial agreements (e.g. NDAs, SOWs, vendor agreements, SaaS/technology agreements).
  • Build skills related to external negotiation.

Legal Department Collaboration

  • Receive and review legal work from various members of the legal department.
  • Expected to work with and learn from legal staff (including attorneys and legal analysts).
  • Participates and assists in projects, as requested.

Advice and Counsel

  • Support members of the legal department, research and review issues.
  • Build skills related to providing general legal advice to business partners.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Advanced Degree - Juris Doctorate

  • 3-5 years experience

  • Paralegal experience a plus; document drafting & talent development experience preferred along with law firm and/or initially in-house experience
