ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Analytics & Insights:

  • Guide the team in developing robust capacity analysis metrics, dashboards, and insights to enable capacity-informed inventory planning

  • Lead the in-depth analysis of chainwide and store specific inventory capacities to identify trends and opportunities to cost-effectively improve capacity utilization.

  • Provide strategic thought leadership and drive actions on opportunities that enhance inventory productivity, as well as Store Teammate and Athlete Experience

  • Champion process improvement efforts to translate complex data sets into simplified, actionable frameworks

  • Provide leadership and organizational expertise in the completion of ad hoc projects.

  • Quickly deliver accurate analysis, that is both actionable and presentable to senior levels of management

Capacity Data Accuracy & Governance

  • Drive accuracy and consistency in capacity data, application of the data into cross-functional processes, and communication of the data to stakeholders

  • Manage and enhance DSG's inventory capacity program, including metric definitions, reporting standards, and change management processes

  • Champion best practices in capacity planning and analysis to drive continuous improvement in reporting, processes, and data quality

  • Ensure accurate maintenance of a comprehensive fixture capacity library to support planning and operational execution

Cross Functional Partnerships & Strategic Influence:

  • Serve as key liaison with key business partners (PAR, Merchandising, Visual Merchandising, Operations) to align capacity metrics, strategies, and business needs

  • Support the integration of capacity insights into the critical milestones with the Visual Calendar and Seasonal Transition process, ensure timely communication and alignment across all teams

  • Influence business partners by presenting sound analysis and impacts to the overall business.

Supervising and Developing Talent:

  • Mentor, train, develop and manage day-to-day activities of direct reports.

  • Encourage others to seek opportunities for different and innovative approaches to addressing problems and opportunities; facilitate the implementation and acceptance of change within the organization.

  • Provide direct reports with timely and regular feedback to support associate development/ growth in role. Conduct mid-year and year end reviews for direct reports.

  • Provide supporting documentation and input pertaining to talent calibration.

  • Drive talent selection process for open direct report positions.

  • Establish strategic staffing and succession plans (0-2-year horizon) within span of control and gain Director support; successfully deliver on proposed staffing objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Merchandising, Analytics, Supply Chain, or related business field

  • 5-7 years of experience in Space Planning, Store Design, Merchandising, Finance, Buying, Inventory Management or related role

  • Space Management experience is strongly preferred

  • Demonstrated experience utilizing Excel and BI tool proficiency required

  • Retail Store Operations experience highly desired

  • Financial modeling and SQL/data query experience is a plus

  • Strong communication and presentation skills

  • Detail oriented with strong analytical, technical and problem-solving skills
