The Manager of Space Management - Automation will serve as a leader within the department, managing, coaching, and developing a team of Analysts and Sr. Analysts while driving business efficiency and effectiveness through the development and management of automation solutions enabling accurate store capacity data. They will collaborate cross functionally to update and maintain Space Management data hierarchies, ensuring accuracy and consistency across platforms. The ideal candidate must possess a broad understanding of Space Management systems, process automation, and the integration of Space Management data with related data sources.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Analytics:
Identify metrics to measure floorplan and planogram capacity alignment, efficiency, and effectiveness
Identify and implement integration opportunities with related data sources and applications to create a fully connected Space Management system
Champion process improvement efforts to translate complex data sets into simplified, actionable frameworks
Support the Director/ VP with leadership and organization of ad hoc projects. Proficient in quickly delivering accurate analysis, that is both actionable and presentable to senior levels of management.
Strategy and Process Development:
Manage the development of BOH and FOH capacity management programs in Blue Yonder through application ideation, testing, and documentation
Responsible for the ongoing development and optimization of Floorplan and Planogram software, driving automation and efficiency improvement
Establish timelines for process and system enhancement projects in partnership with key business partners and stakeholders
Coordinate change management of Space Management hierarchy updates, system changes, and the implementation of automation solutions to cross functional partners and peers
Collaborate with Floor Planners and Space Planners to provide enhanced store capacity detail through automation and system enhancements
Continuous development of tools to provide cutting edge automation solutions to service our internal clients to make better, more data-driven business decisions
Cross Functional Partnerships:
Serve as key liaison with key business partners (PAR, Merchandising, Visual Merchandising, Information Technology, and Store Operations) to align capacity metrics, strategies, and business needs
Champion the integration of capacity analytics and automation into the Seasonal Transition Process, to assist with the timely completion of Floorplans and planograms
Partner with business owners on resolutions when business conflicts exist
Influence business partners through development and implementation of processes and automation simplifying business execution and enhancing capacity insights
Supervising and Developing Talent:
Mentor, train, develop and manage day-to day activities of Space Management analysts and senior analysts. Encourage others to seek opportunities for different and innovative approaches to addressing problems and opportunities; facilitate the implementation and acceptance of change within the organization.
Be the subject matter expert on all systems and processes used within Space Management and share experiential knowledge with the members of the team. Participate in special projects, key initiatives, and system updates as requested by Director of Space Management.
Provide direct reports with timely and regular feedback to support associate development/ growth in role. Conduct mid-year and year end reviews for direct reports. Provide supporting documentation and input pertaining to talent calibration.
Drive talent selection process for open direct report positions. Establish strategic staffing and succession plans (0-2-year horizon) within span of control and gain Director support; successfully deliver on proposed staffing objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Marketing, Merchandising or Operations, Finance, Mathematics
5-7 years of experience in retail space planning or store design preferred
Experience in retail merchandising, store management, buying or inventory management is required
In depth knowledge of Space and Layout practices
Strong analytical skills and the ability to multitask
Strong Negotiation and Influence skills
Highly proficient in MS Excel required; some VBA skills preferred
Experience using a business intelligence platform
Experience utilizing JDA Intactix Suite -Space, Floor, CKB (Blue Yonder), Autocad
Experience using Qlik/Alteryx
