The Sr. Analyst of Space Management - Floor Planning and Automation is responsible for the creation and maintenance of store floorplans and supporting the development of Space Mgmt. system efficiencies through automation solutions. This person will evaluate space productivity within each store floorplan drawing, making recommendations that support the Dick's Corporate Brand and improve financial results. The Sr Analyst will work cross functionally to update and maintain Space Management data hierarchies, ensuring accuracy and consistency across platforms. The ideal candidate must possess an expert level understanding of Space Management systems, process automation, and the integration of Space Management data with related data sources. This person will act as an end-user subject matter expert for peers using Blue Yonder Space Management Software.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Floor Planning and Data Analytics

  • Provide floorplan recommendations for potential new stores and remodels. Partner with key stakeholders to ensure merchandise and space plans are complete and accurate for new, remodel, and existing store prototypes.

  • Analyze performance metrics and provide recommendations to Space, Visual and Merchant teams that identify potential opportunities to improve space productivity.

  • Develop and maintain space awareness capabilities through analysis of fixtures, products, store environments, and visual merchandising guidelines.

  • Demonstrate the ability to "connect the dots" between various business functions, data and outcomes.

  • Dive into complex data sets to analyze trends, identify opportunities, and quantify the potential value of new initiatives.

Continuous Systems Improvement:

  • Support the development and maintenance of Sales Floor and Stock Room space attributes and programs in the existing Space Management suite through application ideation, testing, and documentation.

  • Assist in the ongoing development and optimization of our Category and Space Management suite, driving automation and efficiency improvements.

  • Support the implementation of Space Management hierarchy updates, system changes, and the implementation of automation solutions to cross functional partners and peers.

  • Develop and document space management tools and processes in support of internal partners, enabling strategy-led and analytics-based business decisions.

  • Readily access, analyze, and derive actionable insights in a manner that adds value to the organization.

Cross Functional Partnerships:

  • Coordinate with Visual partners to translate strategic vision into actionable floorplans with consideration for brand image, space allocation, category adjacencies, item placement, and athlete experience.

  • Provide end-user system support to Space Management software users

  • Collaborate with Senior Space Analysts to verify that all planogram and store assignments are accurate and complete before finalizing floorplans.

  • Partners with key business partners to support space data availability and integration for capacity metrics, strategies, and business needs.

  • Champion the integration and concept of space aware analytics through analytics and cross functional data visibility

  • Influence business partners through development and implementation of processes and automation simplifying business execution and enabling space awareness inputs.

  • Effectively communicate actionable recommendations and opportunities for process and system improvement

  • Collaborate across Store Experience and Design to provide recommendations on space allocation to maximize total store productivity.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Merchandising, Analytics, Supply Chain, or related Business Field

  • 3-5 years of experience in Space Planning, Store Design, Merchandising, Finance, Buying, Inventory Management, or related role

  • Experience in Space Management while being detail oriented and having strong communication, analytical, technical, critical thinking and presentation skills is ideal

  • Experience utilizing Excel and Data Visualization Tools

  • Experience with SQL / data query

  • Exposure to Blue Yonder (JDA) Category Management Suite or similar tool

  • Retail Store Operations Experience (desired)

  • Previous experience with retail analytics preferred
