Understanding what athletes want from us is essential to our success. The more we learn about a particular challenge, the better we can solve for that need. We want our software to deliver an experience that is fully immersive, based on our knowledge of what they desire and why.

As DICK’S Sporting Goods transforms our technology organization, we are building and scaling an architecture focused on: developing software incrementally; shipping software in smaller units; and using 12-factor methodology to build cloud-native applications.

A common deployment platform, optimized to host and serve cloud-native applications, will support our product teams in building new apps and services. The goals of our transformation are to increase developer productivity and improve operational efficiency, with an eye toward high availability and reduced risk through consistency, portability and agility.
